BIOPETRA is a student-led initiative from HUIT (Faculty of Biology and Environmental Science) driven by a passion for sustainability.

We are exploring the potential of MICP technology to transform loose sand into solid rock. Our goal is to replace traditional cement with biological alternatives for eco-friendly soil improvement, bio-bricks, and resilient coastal defense structures. We believe nature holds the key to the future of construction.
